Everyday Simple make up!

I'm a pretty Low maintenance girl, and considering I get up about 6am for work everyday I like to keep my make up as simple & FAST as possible.

(Also I apologise for the unprofessional pictures, if anyone would like to give me make up selfie tips PLEASE comment below. )

Again - im SORRY for the picture.

Here is a list of my current ten minute make up products I wear on a day to day basis.

First up-
Because my skin is quite dry I like a dewy finish to my base, so I mix MAC Strobe Cream with NUXE DD Cream. I love the glowy, dewy finish on my skin, & also the Nuxe Tinted Moisturiser has an SPF of 30, and is packed with antioxidants.

Two products mixed

For my face I use Benefit One Hot Minute, it's a gorgeous light brown loose powder which warms up my skin just a pinch.

My blusher is Inglot in No.47
I love how bright the pink is!

Eyes are a combination of Paese (new fave) Kashmir eyeshadows in 666 & 609 and sometimes I'll put a tiny amount of Inglor pigment powder in No.27 to make my eyes pop.

Brows - sorry for the packaging!
Are always Sleek Eyebrow kit in Dark..

The Nuxe, Sleek & Paese are all available in Foody's Pharmacy Dublin & Ballina!

Happy Sunday :)

Paese Makeup Review!

Happy Friday all!

So we had an exciting week at work- very busy- but exciting. We got in a new make up brand, it hails from Poland & it's called Paese!

I saw this online & met up with the brand rep, she showed us some products and we instantly fell in love!

Now, I'm no make up artist, the customers are lucky if I wear mascara some days! But I do know my skin very well and I know (I think ) what suits me. I was very eager to try out the foundations as there are a lot in the range! I was not disappointed. I know I use the word 'love' pretty hastily but I do love the foundation. Finding the perfect base is like finding the perfect pair of jeans or the perfect day time heel- it's a find that doesn't come around very often so when it does you need to savour it!

The range contains a lot of products which are paraben & talc free, they are fortified with radiance boosting vitamins & Moisturising Argan oil in their lipsticks & blushes.

The picture above is me wearing nearly all Paese. My base is my favourite Lush Satin Foundation in 33 because I was wearing tan, I'm usually 31 on a normal day.

To set my make up im wearing the illuminating cover powder which is quite the amazing dupe for MAC Mineralize Skinfinish! I used the shade 4C. This is perfect for finishing & setting make up. My bronzer is Paese in 2M.

I haven't quite mastered the make up pictures yet, apologies.

This make up lasted ALL night without budging, it glided on, have great coverage and looked so so glowy on my skin, I cannot say enough about this!!

Once blended in its a perfect match!

My eyeshadow is Paese I used 2 colours: 666 & 609 in the Kashmir Shadows, I love how matte & perfectly nude these shades are!

The colour pay off with the shadows is great, not much product is needed. The pigments across the range are amazing! Watch this space, it's the best kept secret in make up.. All hail Paese!

Available in Foody's Pharmacy Ballina & Harcourt Street Dublin!

Have you ever tried this range?

Let me know what you'd recommend!

The Avene Experience Series Part 1

Hello! So this post comes a little later than expected, so unlike me, right? :p
A couple of weeks ago I had a once in a lifetime experience and was brought to the Avene Hydrotherapy Centre and Head office in Avene, France. Having worked in Foody's Pharmacy (ahem Ballina & Harcourt Street Dublin!) for the past few years I have been aware of and loved Avene since the first day it arrived on our shelves. I have seen first hand the incredible difference Avene has made to people's skin, and did not think I could be blown away anymore by the brand.

When I found out that I would be among the lucky 12 people in Ireland to be brought to the Avene Centre in France I nearly DIED. I am a skincare nut and to be able to see where the brand was born was a dream come true. I had never been to France either so the excitement levels were soaring at an unimaginable rate.

I will be breaking this post up in to numerous parts, the first which is this one, I will be filling you in on my trip, with lots of pictures and some interesting facts about Avene. In the following posts I will be concentrating more specifically about how the brand works, my experience in the Hydrotherapy Centre, Factory & Head Office and eventually giving skin care advice for different skin concerns.

Ok, where to start?

Avene is a small idyllic village nestled in the South of France. The story of Avene dates as far back to 1736 when a horse who belonged to Marquis of Rocozels was left loose to roam the Black Mountain in southwest France due to a severe skin condition which left him unwanted. After time, the horse's skin and mane became shiny again and his skin was completely cured, tests showed that this was down to him bathing and drinking from the Avene water.

Incredible isn't it?

In 1743 Marquis of Rocozels the owner of the horse and the site built the first thermal spring facility in Avene to treat patients suffering from eczema, psoriasis, and burns.

In 1871 Avene Thermal spring Water was sent to the USA for victims of the Great Fire in Chicago, which proved how incredible the properties are in the water.

(What the Avene Water looks like now!)

In 1874 was the first of the biggest developments in the birth of the Avene brand as it was acknowledged by the French Government to be "of public interest", giving the water the credibility it deserved.

In 1975 the man behind the brand Pierre Fabre purchased the Avene Hydrotherapy Centre, which every year from April - October accommodates over 4,000 patients referred by GPs to help cure their skin conditions.

Are you impressed yet? It really is the most amazing brand, and one thing that stood out the most for me, besides all else was the incredible ethic behind it which every single person working for the company posseses. From the second we boarded the plane in Dublin airport we were treated like royalty and for the four days I was there I didn't stop saying 'oh my god' at two minute intervals. The company has never been about sales or meeting targets as so many companies are, Avene truly believes in helping people and finding the right product for the patient. Every single person we met over there had been with the company for years, and truly loved their job so much, it seemed so far away from the busy corporate and sometimes anonymous lives we live in busy cities.

When we arrived the surroundings were just incredible. We each got our OWN apartment with our OWN NESPRESSO MACHINE !(can you imagine the excitement????) It was sheer luxury, it didn't even feel real!

( Making myself coffee approximately 30 seconds after coming in the door of the apartment. )

The first night we arrived we were invited to the fabulous restaurant on the Avene grounds for an amazing three course feast. Little did we know that we would be having THREE feasts every day for the entirety of the stay. BEST.HOLIDAY.EVER.

The next day was by far the most life changing experience for me being such a lover of the brand. We were brought to the Hydrotherapy Centre which was located a two minute walk from our apartments. Since Avene has come in to the pharmacy where I work I have met countless people with all types of skin conditions many of whom don't even want to leave their house in the morning because their skin is so bad. After they begun using Avene the difference is unbelievable, and it gradually gives people a better quality of life.

I have rambled on for a bit now so I'll end this installment here! In the next I'll talk about my experience in the centre, the Avene Head Office, and some of the workshops I attended while over there.

If anyone has any questions they would like me to answer or discuss in further blogs please comment or email me on Alongcamepollly@gmail.com

I hope you enjoyed this and you've learned a little bit more about Avene!

Until next time,

Au Revoir

Mink Eyelashes in Life Hair& Beauty Salon Review!

Good evening lovelies!

I was contacted by the lovely Stephanie Kehoe who is a beautician & general eyelash magician in Life Hair & Beauty in Sligo who asked if I would do a review of the salon to which I quickly accepted! She mentioned Mink Eyelashes and I was so excited about getting them done! I'm the eldest in my family and typically I'm the only one in the house who wasn't born with huge fluttering eyelashes, I have about three lashes. I always wear individual lashes on a night out because I feel totally naked without them. I had always wanted to try the Mink lashes and now that I have I fear I'll never be able to go back to my bald natural ones I was unfortunately born with.

I headed up to Sligo early and arrived at Life which us very easy to find, on Pearse Road before town and they have a huge blue sign outside you can't miss it!

From the second I went in the setting, the ambience and the staff were all faultless. I felt so at ease and wish I had more time before work to get more treatments! Stephanie brought me up to the room and straight away I felt like I had known her for years, we chatted so comfortably about eyelash length and size and she explained exactly how it would work and what to expect. We decided to go quite dramatic- 'go big or go home' one of my mottos, and I was dying to see the results. Stephanie had her own lashes done and they looked amazing!

During the time Stephanie was doing my eyelashes I barely felt a thing. I have quite sensitive eyes and I thought they would water easily but they were fine! We just chatted for the entire time about everything and the time flew by! I've never had these lashes done before so I didn't know what to expect at all, and when she showed me the end result I was so happy!

My eyes looked so much bigger and they looked so natural you couldn't see where the natural and false lashes met! I've seen people have Mink lashes done before and they never last very long in most cases and look very fake, but Stephanie is so brilliant I cannot recommend her highly enough. She gave me tips on how to clean them, using an oil free cleansing water and gave me a lash brush incase the tangled at night.

Sorry for the brutalness of my brows I was growing them out!

It's been a week since Ive gotten them done and I've had no discomfort, none falling out, no itchiness at all and they still look at good as they did the first day. I brush them twice a day (haha!) and I dont put any mascara or eyeliner on because you don't even need to they're so dark! I am totally obsessed with them, it takes me five minutes to get ready in the mornings and I feel so done up! :D They are meant to last for up to 6 weeks depending on how well you look after them, I'll keep you all posted! Here's what they look like now a week on-

I just want to say a HUGE thank you to Life Hair & Beauty for inviting me down, and a special thank you to Stephanie for getting in contact with me and making such a fab job on my lashes! Aside from the fact that she is amazing at what she does she happens to be one of the loveliest girls I've ever met, I'd nearly go down again just for the chat! :p I am hooked now I reckon, so I'll be back soon girls! If you're heading to a wedding or just fancy fluttering new and full lashes hit these girls up and ask for Stephanie you will not regret it!

Caudalie Polyphenol C15 Review!

Good evening!

I know this post comes a little later than expected (so unlike me, right? Naat..)
But I wanted to wait until we had official launch day of the product in work, which was yesterday!
Anyone who knows me, or who has been following my blog for a while will know how utterly OBSESSED I am with Caudalie. I love Caudalie. I know I'm throwing that word around a lot, but I'm currently not in love with any person so there's room for me to be in love with a Skincare range!
I had never heard of Caudalie before I started working in Foody's Pharmacy 3 years ago, and to think of what I used to use on my skin makes me shudder to my core. Here's a little background info on this range for those of you who havent heard of it.(If you have met me, you can probably skim past this part as I never shut up about this range.)

Caudalie is a French range, it is 100% natural and made from organic ingredients, with the modest grape being the most important ingredient. The grape contains many parts, and each part has a function for the skin, fighting against wrinkles and correcting damage already done. Caudalie split the grape in to 3 Parts and Patented these three parts, they are as follows:

Polyphenols- the juice of the grape
Vinifrene- The sap of the grapevine
Resveratrol- the Stalk of the grapevine

In another blog I will delve further in to each patent, but for now I will be concentrating on Polyphenols, and C15 to be more precise.

I am lucky enough to work in a pharmacy that sells my favourite Skincare product because it means I have the luxury of being trained to know all about the range, and also it means I can try out everything in the range, therefore being able to give real advice about it.

Caudalie recently sent me an amazing pack with the entire Polyphenol C15 range for me to try, and review on my blog- Thank you guys!! I was so excited bringing home my new treats to try! There is nothing in Caudalie that I don't like, so I knew I would love this range, but I wasn't prepared for the sheer volume of love I now have for it.

Caudalie have developed this revolutionary range which is changing the skin of women and men around the world. Did you know that you can prevent 4/5 wrinkles? Did you know that FREE RADICALS are the first and main cause of ageing in the skin? Did you know that the first thing Free Radicals will attack is Hyaluronic Acid? Did you also know that by using this new range in Caudalie that you can correct and prevent all of this?

Caudalie have added and stabilised Vitamin C to their patented ingredient Polyphenol. The combination of the two ingredients has produced incredible results. This powerful duo will BLOCK the skin from Free Radicals 100% and will also CORRECT damage that has been done to the skin. Read on to see how I found the products....

I can safely say that it is my favourite range so far. Here's a line up of the products:

First off my favourite piece- The Overnight Detox Oil-

If I could drink this oil I would. This is a night oil, applied to the face after cleansing and before your night time moisturiser. I have been using it for 2 weeks now and the change in my skin is incredible. My skin is so clear, so glowing when I wake up in the morning, it has never looked better. For the first time in a while I can actually SEE my skin. I use this oil every night and on alternate nights I'll use it before my Serum. This oil, like the entire range is 100% natural. Which means no parabens, no alcohol and no perfume among some of the nasty additives present in so many Skincare ranges. Over night this oil helps tired skin regenerate and rejuvenate leaving you with detoxed and glowing skin when you wake. This has totally changed my skin. Every morning I wake up and my skin feels so soft and looks so fresh. So much so that last week I didn't wear foundation to work! Being a girl, you will know how big that is..And I didn't wear it because I didn't want to cover up my new found skin.

The difference I have seen in my skin in two week is amazing, you NEED to try this oil.

Next up: the Fluid:

Even though I wasn't wearing make up, I made sure that I had this fluid on so I and SPF. If you do one thing today to change your skincare regime start wearing SPF. I cannot stress this enough. People don't realise the damage the sun is doing to their skin and by not wearing any SPF you are allowing your bare skin to be destroyed and aged by the sun's harmful rays. Even on days when the sun is hidden behind colours, the rays are still there so never leave the house with SPF! I love the fluid texture of this, it's perfect before my make up and it glides on the skin. I have oil combination skin so this balances the oils in my skin keeping me shine free all day. I love this!

Next up- The Anti-Wrinkle Serum-

As well as the two powerful ingredients, this serum also contains Hyaluronic Acid which moisturises and plumps the skin giving it back it's youth after it's attack by the free radicals. This is very high in antioxidants, and will correct and defend the skin from further damage. I use this either on it's own day or night before my cream or oil. This serum feels amazing on my skin, it clears my skin of any dullness and makes it look incredibly youthful and radiant. This is my favouorte serum in the Caudalie Range with the Radiance serum coming a very close second.

Next up- Eye and Lip Cream

This little bottle is quite the miracle worker.. Packed full of polyphenols, vitamin C and antioxidants, this eye and lip cream will ensure that bags and dark circles will be happily banished. You should always use a different cream on your eyes than you use on your face because the skin is so different on both and your eye cannot take as much product as the rest of your face. This is a light texture but leaves your eyes and lip area feeling refreshed, soothed and firmed.

So that's the range in a nutshell. As you can tell I LOVE it. It gets a big thumbs up from me and in terms of what it has done for my skin, I am giving this a 10/10.. If you don't use Caudalie you NEED to start. I cannot stress enough how much I love this entire range, I can honestly say I will NEVER change. The difference in my skin is incredible since I began using this three years ago, and I've seen even more of an improvement since starting the C15 range. If you're ever around Ballina then call in and I can give you some samples to try the range yourself- your skin will thank you!

Here are some pictures of our Launch at work we had such a great day ! Huge thanks to Hannah Ferguson of Crimson Threads who popped in and got some samples!

Me and my favourite Vinotherapist in the entire world and the woman who introduced me and trained me in Caudalie- Krissy!
