Turning 26...my birthday celebrations!

Good morning guys!

Today is the day after the birthday and waking up 26 to be honest feels a little weird.. Yesterday I had the commotion of cake, presents and celebrations that I didn't have much time to actually think about it. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm
Not saying that 26 is old; I just don't know how I even got here! This year has been a whirlwind for me full of changes. I moved to Dublin, started a new job away from all my family and friends, I met someone who brings me unending happiness and im returning to college for a masters in September!

Hopefully 26 will bring change and even more happiness!

Enough rambling, here are some pictures of my day!

So firstly I got the best present off my family- you might have remembered me drooling over the Kenneth Cole Watch from Winters Jewellers in my last post? Well now it's MINE! I can't wear it until I get links removed but I love it so much!

I then hopped on a bus after the Bonniconlon show down to Galway to spend the day with Daniel!

You probably know at this stage that he got me a Nespresso for my birthday it's a gorgeous powder blue I love it! I've already drank 4 cups..

His Mum had banners all over the house and gave me a gorgeous gift-

It was weird not being at home for my birthday but I was in my second home so I had such a lovely day!

Next up I got all dressed up for part 2 of Daniel's present- Afternoon Tea in the House Hotel Galway! I had considered going to the G but it's just a bit far out and I wanted to be close to town! I love the House Hotel it's so girly inside and the staff couldn't help us enough!

Everything was so delicious!

Now the most important thing- my outfit!

So as a tradition I began myself I ALWAYS get dressed up on my birthday. It's the one day that it's all about you and know one can hate you for it so I really milk it! Last year I wore a green suit & changed to a tulle skirt that night. This year I raised the bar and went full Princess. Feck it.

The tiara was bought on ASOS about 3 years ago, it's actually really nice if you wear it flatter down with your hair up!

The Tulle Skirt was made by Jane & the ladies in the Ballina Costume Company, it's the skirt of my DREAMS! They can make them to order just contact them!

The bag is old ASOS, shoes are old Zara,  sequin cape us Penneys from about 7 years ago- I've looked after it very well! And the tshirt I picked up in h&m!

I finished the day off with Prosecco & a movie as the weather was too horrible to go out in!

Anyone turning 26 and freaking out- don't worry! Age really is just a number all that matters is being surrounded by people who make you happy, and maybe the odd finger click diva moment for more Prosecco.. It's allowed on your birthday!

Elisha xo

Alongcamepollly & Warehouse Collaborates

Hello guys!

I was recently contacted by the very lovely people in Warehouse about doing a collaboration with them in light of their amazing AW Collection. I will never forget reading the email, I thought it was a joke at first! I have loved Warehouse clothes for years so this was a dream come true to work with them! Trying to chose what to wear from the collection was near impossible because I wanted it all, in the end I chose this beautiful faux fur jacket pictures below! When it arrived I was bouncing with excitement and dying to style it!

Into the West blogger Network-the first rendezvous..

Last Saturday was a big day for me. Since starting this blog a mere seven months ago I have longed to attend my first official blogging event and meet other bloggers. I received an email from the lovely Deirdre Cribbin of Deeva Make Up asking me if I would like to attend the ITWBN event to which I very quickly agreed to attend! I then got in touch with Sinead of Yummy Mummy Fashion &Lifestyle who gave us all the details.. Afternoon tea in the G Hotel?! I was bouncing with excitement for a full two weeks! I changed my mind a million times on what I would wear and in the end I stayed as true to myself as I could- a die hard wannabe Princess. So I sashayed past disproving looks from my father and ignored strange looks from the other bus-goers at Bus Eireann and headed up to one of my favourite places in the world- Galway. The G Hotel is INCREDIBLE, it was my first time there and I was completely blown away. The service was completely faultless & the food was out of this world. I didn't want to leave!

The afternoon was so lovely, I met the nicest & funniest bunch of girls (and two men), we all hit it off so well it was like we knew each other for years. We exchanged tips, talked about our blogs and just basically had a laugh in beautiful surroundings! A huge thank you has to be said to Cara Pharmacy &The Publicity Loft for the AMAZING goodie bags we received which were bursting with products that I am dying to try! We were all blown away by their generosity so thank you again.

Now on to my OUTFIT -sorry of you've had to scroll this far to see this-

If you have been reading my posts you'll know by now that I love anything girlie, tulle or anything Blair Waldorf/Carrie Bradshaw inspired! I saw this skirt on eBay &fell in love with it, I've worn it before to my cousin's christening:

It comes from Hong Kong so be prepared to wait about 4 weeks for delivery. It comes in one size but it's quite stretchy! It also comes in lots of different colours. If this one sells out just click 'view more like this' and lots more will come up, just make sure the seller has at least 97% positive feedback & read the description carefully. Here's the link:

I teamed the skirt with my Topshop silver holographic Gwenda Heels which I have worn to death, a Topshop shirt, Penney's jumper, Zara Chain & a River Island hairband (which I bought because it looks like a tiara).

Here are some pictures of the day taken by Claire Jameson of Justified by Jemo, & Danielle of Sweet Memories Photography- thank you ladies, the pictures are gorgeous!

I would just like to say a HUGE thank you to Cara Pharmacy, the Publicity Loft, The G Hotel, Philip from #TheGalwayHour for popping in for a chat, and of course the notorious GALWAY PLAYER who had us all totally intrigued... Turns out he is a complete gentleman who may have asked me out on a date... Will I be the girl to tame him?! :p Stay tuned!

I would now like to extend a massive thank you to Sinead Carroll of Yummy Mummy fashion Lifestyle Blog who is the brains (and beauty) behind the Into the West Blogger Network which is a fantastic, friendly & welcoming platform for all of us west of Ireland bloggers! Thank you Sinead for organising such a great day, I can't wait for the next one!

This is the part where I get all cheesy about my new friends.

But I really did meet some incredibly talented, kind, beautiful & hilarious ladies who I know will grow to be great friends of mine. (Cheeeeeese) Here's a list of all the bloggers on the day, I suggest you find their twitter, Facebook ,Instagram & stalk the crap out of them because their blogs are brilliant. That's all for now, if you're new to my blog, I do this whole rambling thing alot...sorry! I just had alot to say!

'The world needs some excitement from fashion'

Here I quote the inspirational French Designer, Christian Lacroix.
Never a truer word was spoken. In a world filled with angst, sadness, 'recession', and constant bad news filling our televisions and papers it has become second nature to accept the world as the media has painted it. However it's not all that bad is it? There will always be bad news, there will always be sad, heartbreaking stories, but if we are to focus on everything negatively, we may aswell thrown in the towel now. I'm quite a positive person, a trait that sometimes means I ignore problems and brush them under the carpet until it may be too late to resolve them; but I do generally try to have a positive outlook on life. As a wise person once said 'we're here for a good time not a long time'. That's not to say we should all ignore everything tough in life and live in some fantasy world- no, because then you miss out on the real world around you. What I am trying to say is that, we have control of certain things in our life, and style to most people is one of those things. Life is a bitch. Sorry to be blunt but it is. Maybe I'm mad, but, clothes are the one thing that will cheer me up when I've had a bad day. Fashion should be fun, and if you wear clothes with confidence than there really are no rules, only comfort. This post is about fun fashion, and a piece that has cropped up in recent fashion weeks, and that my personal style icon Carrie Bradshaw possibly began all those years ago- the tulle skirt. This is not for the faint hearted. But,  think everyone should try something once- this look won't be for everyone, but it's a personal favorite look of mine. I put it down to always wanting to be a ballerina but having two left feet so never being able to pursue that dream. Whether worn with a plain tshirt, an exaggerated collared shirt, a wooly jumper or a chiffon camisole, this is a look I have always loved. The longer lengths in this style are the most chic way to wear it, and also the most transferable for any age. Here are some pictures I found online of my favorite looks. I don't have links to buy any because my laptop only lasts for 10 minutes before it switches off so working off the phone until my sisters return from college! :/
This is one I bought on eBay for about €7, I hope it turns out nice when it arrives!

The skirt that changed my life! (Almost)

Now if any of ye have made it down to this point thanks for reading and whether you hate this style or love it, the moral is to just have fun with fashion and take risks, who cares if you look back in ten years and bury your hands in your head?! I once worse PURPLE leather trousers and a PINK SNAKESKIN leather jacket TOGETHER. I was 11, but still, and although I cringe looking at it, at the time I thought I looked gorgeous and it made me happy so really that's all fashion us about. Wearing what makes you happy.

Night

Peace & love :) xo
